McDavid takes command

U.S. Army Lt. Col. Chris McDavid speaks after assuming command of the 2-398th Cavalry Squadron during a Sept. 7 ceremony. The squadron is headquartered in Madisonville, Ky. He is the son of Richard and Patricia McDavid of Paris. In his previous cavalry assignments, McDavid served with 2nd Squadron, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas, and with the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment as the regimental aviation officer in Knoxville as a member of the Tennessee Army National Guard. He has served in previous deployments to Iraq and Kuwait.
