Mary Ann Jones

Mary Ann McQueen Jones, 74, of Henry died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at Henry County Medical Center.

Her funeral service was at 2 p.m. Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home, with Richard and Terri Dakin of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating.

Pallbearers were Devin Western, Tom Freeland, Tim Johnson, David Owens, Kevin Campbell and Raymond Western.

Burial was in West Wood Pentecostal Church Cemetery.

Jones was born Dec. 5, 1947, in Springfield, Ill. She was the daughter of the late Cheyenne and Rose Crane.

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy (Robert) Keener of Henry and Rose Collins of St. Louis; a son, Raymond (fiancee Angela Suratt) Western of Henry; eight grandchildren: David Owens, Tashia Owens, Daniel Western, Paige Wilson, Devin Western, Candace Hill, Sandra Hendrick and Christina Scott; numerous great-grandchildren: two sisters, Joann (Tom) Freeland and Agnes Carroll, both of Paris; her fiancé, Lonnie “Crash” Pilkenton; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members and special friends.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Tim McQueen; a grandchild, Dylan Western; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Carroll.

She was a Christian by faith who attended and volunteered her time at First Church of the Nazarene in Paris.  She enjoyed sewing, playing bingo, playing her scratch-offs, fishing, along with arts and crafts. She was well known for her cooking, most especially for her squirrel or chicken and dumplings. Mary Ann was a very kind and loving lady who adored her children and grandchildren.
