Helen B. Little, 97, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., died Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.
She is survived locally by a son, Tom (Donna Knight) Little of Springville and a grandson, Patrick (Ashley) Little of McKenzie.
Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Brian Straus officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Little was born Oct. 3, 1921, in Millwood, Mo. She was the daughter of the late Russell and Opal Mudd Clem.
She was married July 19, 1941, to John Little of Millwood. He preceded her in death in 1985.
In addition to local relatives, she also is survived by three daughters, Susan (Bill) Vickery, Mary Obergoenner and Ann (Danny) Dewrock, all of Cape Girardeau; two other sons, Joe (Kay) Little of Goodyear, Ariz., and Dan (Cookie) Little of Cape Girardeau;
Nine other grandchildren, Barb (Mark) Fisher of Uniontown, Ohio, Brian (Marla) Little of Tampa, Fla., Chris (Kim) Little of St. Augustine, Fla., Sarah Vickery of Nashville, Todd (Emily) Obergoenner of Cape Girardeau, Clay (Dixie) Obergoenner of Jackson, Mo., Danny Lee (Amy) Dewrock of Jackson, Mo., Danielle (Larry) Driskell of Cape Girardeau and Jared (Michelle) Stewart Dewrock of Jackson, Mo.; and 24 great-grandchildren, with another due in August.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers; six sisters; and two grandchildren, Lindsey Vickery and Joe Bill Little.
She was an elementary school teacher in Cape Girardeau for 20 years and was retired from the teachers association.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and St. Vincent Women’s Council. She also volunteered at a pregnancy care center in Cape Girardeau.
