Former City of Paris employee Rodger Dale Greer, 62, of Paris died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at AHC Paris. No cause of death was given.
His funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Gary Collier officiating.
Pallbearers will be friends and caregivers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Greer and Jimmy Wilson.
Burial will be in Bevil Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Greer was born Dec. 7, 1956, in Paris. He was the son of the late William Wilson and Gurtha Ann Garrett Greer.
He is survived by two nieces, Brenda Hughes of Paris and Teresa Henson of Aurora, Ky.; a nephew, Robert Hughes of Des Arc, Ark.; and a cousin, Ronnie Greer of Paris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Lee and Wayne Ray Greer; a half-sister, Anna Pearl Smith; and a half-brother, Lacy Hughes.
Greer worked in maintenance for the City of Paris for more than 23 years. He also worked for Crestview Nursing Home in Paris. Greer spent the last several years of his life at AHC Paris. He was an avid University of Tennessee fan.
