Carolyn D. Chandler, age 82 of Paris, TN, died Friday, April 3, 2020, at AHC of Paris.
Memorial visitation will be Sunday, October 18, 2020, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 p.m. at Cottage Grove Baptist Church, 6860 Church Street, Cottage Grove, TN 38224, with the memorial service to begin at 3:00 p.m. at Cottage Grove Baptist Church, with Mike Wimberley officiating.
She retired after 25 years with the U.S. Department of Agriculture where she worked as a program specialist in the Paris ASCS office. Following her retirement from USDA, Carolyn sold real estate in the area for several years. She was a longtime member of Cottage Grove Baptist Church and teacher of the Joyful Servants Sunday school class. She was a member and past president of the Paris Women’s Club and was recognized by the Henry County Historical Society as a member of the Pioneer Families of Henry County. Carolyn was an avid reader and especially enjoyed poetry, having written several poems over the years.
Carolyn was born March 16, 1938, in Cottage Grove, TN, to the late Richard Coy Dublin and the late Bessie Dixon Paschall.
She was married October 22, 1960, to her husband of 52 years, James W. Chandler, who preceded her in death on September 1, 2013.
She is survived by her two sons, Mark Chandler of Paris, TN, and Mike (Teresa) Chandler of Paris, TN; two grandchildren, Jacob Andrew Chandler and Lauren Nicole Chandler; her sisters-in-law, Janie McKenzie of Springville, TN, and Jaquita Walker of Alton, IL; cousins, JoAnne Paschall McEvoy of Long Beach, MS, Kenny (Sandra) Paschall of Puryear, TN, Rebecca Landolt of Murray, KY, and Starlon Langham of Tri-City, KY; and her special niece and caregiver, Shannon Parker.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Her body was cremated.
