Former Ford Motor Co. employee Richard Wayne Mayfield, 70, of Paris died Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Henry County Medical Center.
His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Johnny Farmer officiating.
Cremation will follow the service.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mayfield was born March 13, 1949, in Birmingham, Ala. He was the son of the late John Thomas and Twyler Marie Mays Mayfield.
He was married June 19, 1987, to Barbara Forrest Mayfield of Paris, who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two daughters, Heidi (Kevin) Bergeson of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Carolyn Mayfield of Murray; four sons: Michael Mayfield of Paris, Richard (Tammy) Mayfield Jr. of Westland, Mich., Ronald Dean Mayfield of Michigan and Phillip (Shanda) Mayfield of Prescott, Mich.; a daughter-in-law, Sheri Mayfield of Michigan; several grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters: Brenda Barrett of Crossville, Rhonda (Dan) Dawson of Belleville, Mich., and Cheryl McKenzie of Ypsilanti, Mich.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Mayfield; and two brothers, Bo and Ronny Mayfield.
Mayfield retired after many years from Ford in Michigan, where he worked in assembly. He was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Paris and enjoyed woodworking and caring for his chickens.
