Army veteran Steve Morton Porter, 59, of Huntingdon died Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon. No cause of death was given. Locally, he is survived by a sister, Cathy Jean Bullington of Paris.
His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chase Funeral Home in Huntingdon, with Jimmy Furr officiating.
Pallbearers will be Gene Vickers, James Boyd, Robert Young, Jacob Ferguson, Thomas Ballew, Cathy Bullington; and honorary pallbearers Ernest Vickers and William Porter.
Burial will be in Camden City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Porter was born Sept. 10, 1959, in California. He was the son of the late Betty Viola Bradley Porter and Gene Stanley Porter of Camden, who survives.
In addition to his father and sister, he is survived by two stepdaughters, Cecily (Jacob) Ferguson and Angela Ballew, both of McKenzie; two grandchildren, Thomas Ballew and Kaylee Ferguson; two additional sisters, Christina Rae Vickers of Camden and Samantha May White of McKenzie; and a brother, William Dale Porter of Camden.
Porter was a mechanic for several years.
