Former mechanic William Charles Cissell, 53, of Paris died Sunday, June 30, 2019, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville after a short battle with cancer.
His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Shady Grove Baptist Church, with Jimmy Stairs officiating.
Pallbearers will be Joe Ford, Daniel Gooch, Billy Jack Gatewood, Dane Cissell and Justin and Ryan Mathews.
Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Cissell was born March 30, 1966, in Paducah. He was the son of Clifford Earl (Barbara Smith) Cissell of Paducah, who survives, and the late Mary Louise Gibbs Gatewood.
In addition to his father, he is survived by four children: Kayla Renea Cissell of Calvert City, Ky., Danica Jewel Cissell of Dresden, Chapell Dain Cissell of Dresden, and Samantha Kay Damron of Paris; four grandchildren: Brycelyn Averie Wilson, Kross Cissell, Jaslynn Evans and Reldon Evans Jr.; four sisters: Tonya (Joe) Ford, Mary Charlene Wood, Angie Brown Everette and Toni Renee Brown, all of Paducah; a brother, Billy Jack Gatewood of Hardin, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; and his life partner, Tammy Damron of Paris.
In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Belinda Carol Gatewood.
Cissell formerly worked as a mechanic at Parker Marine. A family member said he was a Christian whose life was centered around family, hunting and fishing.
