Former seamstress Mary Henrietta Carver Summers, 93, of Paris, formerly of Hollow Rock, died Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Henry County Medical Center.
Her funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Joe Page and Alan Trull officiating.
Pallbearers will be Mark Miller, Kenny Sherrod, Brent and Sam Hedge, Clint and Bruce Dorris, and Jay and Brett Chandler. Honorary pallbearer will be Truman Hedge.
Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery in Camden.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Summers was born Dec. 28, 1925, in Vale. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and Veronia Arnold Carver.
She was married Aug. 30, 1957, to Dewey Summers, who preceded her in death on April 3, 1980.
She is survived by a daughter, Grace Summers (Ray) Taylor of Paris; a son, Danny (Carol) Fowler of Melbourne, Fla.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elwood and Buford Carver.
She retired after 29 years of working at Henry I. Siegel (H.I.S.) in Bruceton. She was a member of the Carroll County Home Demonstration Club and New Hope Baptist Church in Paris. A family member said she loved quilting, sewing and mending clothes for others. She also enjoyed growing and gardening vegetables.
