Fay Ridley Carter, 96, of Paris died Saturday, June 22, 2019, at her home.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home, with Ken Beal of Manley’s Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was a member, officiating.
Pallbearers will be John Thomas and Charlie Rose, and Alan and Eric Paschall.
Burial will be in Manley’s Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Monday, and from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Carter was born Sept. 4, 1922, in McKenzie. She was the daughter of the late Snead Hans and Lela Ella Sparks Ridley.
She was married Sept. 21, 1940, to Earl Thomas Carter, who preceded her in death on March 24, 2009.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Reed) Rose of Paris; a granddaughter, Tamara (Jeff) Paschall of Paris; four great-grandchildren: Alan (Amanda) Paschall, Eric Paschall,and John Thomas and Charlie Rose, all of Paris; and four great-great-grandchildren: Allie, Addison, A.J. and Ella Paschall.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Mike Rose, who died in 2014; and a brother, Sammy Ray Ridley.
Carter was formerly employed by Holley Carburetor, Clippard Manufacturing, and Brown Shoe Company. She was a graduate of McKenzie High School. She was a member of Martha Chapter 155 Order of the Eastern Star.
