Former Springville resident Rose Leonard, 89, of Wingo, Ky., died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, at the Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Mercy Health in Paducah.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Mount Pleasant Mennonite Church, 2345 Almus Road in Wingo.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will be in Walker Cemetery in Henry County.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the church. Local arrangements are being handled by McEvoy Funeral Home.
Leonard was born Dec. 11, 1929, in Betsy Lane, Ky., the daughter of the late Henry and Lessie Mabel Alls Walters.
She was married on Nov. 23, 1944, to Dewey Herbert Leonard Sr., who preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 2006.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Morse of Mulberry, Ark.; two sons, Dennis Leonard of Wingo and Wallace (Judy) Leonard of Boise, Idaho; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Harris of Virginia.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Sue Leonard; three sons: Dewey Herbert, Curtis Lee and John Lowe Leonard; three sisters: Bessie Virgia, Sheila Alice Alls and Ada Sue Ellen Cooper; and four brothers: Henry Wiley, Herbert Lawrence, John Wesley and Jerry Franklin Walters.
