Former Tower Sports Center owner Donald Ivey, 79, of Buchanan died Thursday, June 6, 2019, at his home.
His funeral service was Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home, with Doug Hampton of Holladay Community Church
Burial was in Memorial Cemetery.
Ivey was born Feb. 16, 1940, in Atlanta. He was the son of the late Melvin Otis Ivey and Lillie Mae Ragsdale Judd.
He is survived by a daughter, Kristina (Ricky) Wilson of Paris; two sons, Wendell (Tina) Ivey of Holladay and David Michael (Tammy) Ivey of LaMarque, Tex.; four grandchildren: Alex Ivey, Justin Flanagan, Cody North and Ashton Steele; four great-grandchildren; three sisters: Lynda (Johnny) Humes of Oaklawn, Ill., Elizabeth Sampson of Bruceton and Janice Nance of Nashville; four brothers: Ronald Ivey of Springville, Lindsey Ivey of Palmersville, Wallace Ivey of Tulsa, Okla., and Roy Leon Ivey of Plainfield, Ill.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Ivey retired from General Motors of Willow Springs, Ill. After his years as owner/operator of the Tower Sports Center in Henry County, he opened the Tractor Barn, where he repaired and restored antique tractors.
