Retired carpenter Ronald A. Patterson, 71, of Paris died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, in Paris.
His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Randy Stephens, Bob Palmer and Eric Kelleher officiating.
Patterson’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Martinez, Kyle Shaddon, Stephen O’Neill and Larry Woodard.
Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove.
Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Patterson was born Feb. 6, 1948, in Lansing, Mich. He was the son of the late George E. and Elayne V. Cummings Patterson.
He was married June 14, 1968, to Deborah Ann Shoepke Patterson of Paris, who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kelly Jo (Joseph) Martinez of Springville and Brandy Leigh Taylor of Paris; 11 grandchildren, Michael Morrissey, Ryan Morrissey, Victoria (Stephen) O’Neill, Clarissa (Kyle) Shaddon, Tyler L. (Shyanne) Martinez, Miranda Martinez, Andrew Patterson, Tyler J. Martinez, Antonio (Hannah) Martinez, Alexander Taylor and Kelsi Taylor; three great-grandchildren, Serenity Martinez, James Shaddon and Everyly Shaddon; and a brother, Richard Allan Patterson of Mason, Mich.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, Don E. Patterson; and a stillborn sister, Nancy Jo Patterson.
He attended both the Bridge of Hope Church and Sulphur Well Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, building poker tables and playing poker. He also enjoyed crafting anything from wood, especially canes.
