Former teacher and IRS employee Rosalie Manz, 93, of Springville died Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Henry County Medical Center.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home, with Randy Stephens officiating.
Her body was cremated, and her cremains will be buried in Lansing, Mich., next to her parents.
Visitation is scheduled from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Manz was born Oct. 6, 1925, in Olney, Ill. She was the daughter of the late Margret Sherwood-Manz and Frederick Donald Manz.
She is survived by a sister, Priscilla Martin of Buchanan; two cousins, Janet Bishop of Peoria, Ill., and Jane Hapeman of DeKalb, Ill., and several friends and caregivers.
She was a graduate of Michigan State University where she earned her master’s degree, and taught math 13 years in the Bay City, Mich., school system. Manz also worked for the IRS in Lansing, Mich., and retired as a rural mail carrier in Vermontville, Mich. A family member said she enjoyed collecting stamps and volunteering at Henry County Helping Hand.
