U.S. Coast Guard veteran Robert Samuelson, 79, of Puryear died Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Henry County Medical Center.
A celebration of life service, with Masonic rites, will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Buchanan United Methodist Church, with the Rev. H.B. Fields officiating.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by McEvoy Funeral Home.
Burial previously occurred in Shiloh Moravian Church Cemetery in Sturgeon Bay, Wis.
Samuelson was born March 6, 1940, in Sturgeon Bay. He was the son of the late Stanley Gordon and Grace Dorothy Keith Samuelson.
He was married Nov. 26, 1958, to Annie-Laurie Thomas Samuelson of Puryear, who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Julie-Ann Samuelson of Puryear; four grandchildren: Robert C. (Jennifer) Samuelson, Knowles (Maegan) Samuelson, Thomas (Samantha) Curlings and Austin (Emily) Curlings; 11 great-grandchildren: Charlee, Emmilee, Isabella, Knowles and Juliette Samuelson, Leighton, Lawson and Landry Curlings, and Molly, Misha and Anakin Curlings; and a sister, Ruth Barrette of Janesville, Wis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Francis Samuelson, who died May 19, 2017; a sister, Mary Elonich; and a brother, Keith Samuelson.
Samuelson joined the Coast Guard in September 1957 and served 30 years.
