Jesse K. Moody, 28, of Puryear died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at his home. No cause of death was given.
His funeral service was Saturday at Puryear Baptist Church, with Larry Simmons and Mike Rhodes officiating.
Pallbearers were his special friends. Burial was in Puryear City Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Moody was born on Aug. 26, 1991, in Murray. He was the son of Jeff and Janet Fisher Moody of Puryear, who survive.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancée, Aly Calhoun of Puryear; a sister, Angel Evitts of Puryear; his grandparents, Edna Moody and Stella Hutchens, both of Puryear; an aunt, Patty Kennedy of Puryear; two uncles, David (Dianne) Fisher of McKenzie and Lyndel (Sherry) Fisher of Newbern; a nephew, Avery Evitts of Puryear; and special friends: Sarah Murphy, Alan Coleman, Wes Smalley, Joey Davis, Joe Violet, Jared Parrish, Zach Baker, Aurora Lucy, B.J. Brent Brown, Zach Hoover, Will White, Chase Peeler and Jay Flancham.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bill Moody, U.L. Fisher, Alice Jo Fisher and Charles Hutchens; an uncle, Larry Kennedy; and a cousin, Jay Kennedy.
Moody was a 2009 graduate of Henry County High School and a patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis for 18 years. He enjoyed playing video and other games with his friends and spending time with friends and family. He was a member of Puryear Baptist Church.
