Wolf's Den

Tony VanDyke

Has anyone reading this ever had a case of depression? Let me see the hands, please.

Wow, looks like a cane field that is ready to be harvested. I think, if we are honest with ourselves and others, we have all had a little, or big, touch of depression.

Wasn’t nice, was it? Sometimes it would be short-lived; other times, it just seemed to take up residence and ask, “What’s for dinner, Snoopy?”

I have a friend who is suffering from depression and anxiety. To this person, it is as real as a snake bite.

It interferes with the entire life cycle, and I have been trying to come up with something to help in easing the pain and, yes, it is a physical pain at times, as well as a mental one.

I have been searching for something that will help. I ran across a section on the computer titled “Foundation for Inner Peace.”

I read through some of it, and parts grabbed my attention, because they say what I have believed and said for some time.

I believe they may be of aid to anyone who is down or feels the world is against him or her:

• “God is in everything I see, because God is in my mind.” He created all that we see about us, so why don’t we love it? How can we be depressed?

• “You are the work of God, and His work is wholly lovable and wholly loving. This is how we must think of ourselves in our heart, because this is what we are.”

• “For loneliness in God must be a dream.” How can you be lonely or depressed when God is in you? And He is, because He is in all His creations.

May the peace that passes all understanding be with us all each and every day.

God loves you and so do I. Think about it.
