Dan Patterson

Ihave a propensity to pen preposterous political posts. This is definitely one. The purpose of this one is to define some of the misguided ideas about wearing a mask.

It is bewildering to hear and read all the negative ideas displayed by supposedly semi-smart individuals. The vast majority of medical experts recommend practicing this simple procedure.

I am fully aware of certain people who have a valid reason for not wearing a mask.

Sadly, there are many people who are persuaded that they are being duped into some sort of political experiment.

Have they read too many science fiction books or watched too many Rod Sterling movies? They must really be in the “Twilight Zone.”

Are we unknowingly under a diabolical Democratic plot funded by George Soros? Is Nancy Pelosi secretly commanding a covert operation to alter our minds to vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris?

Are dark Democratic demons descending on all the prospective voters? Could this political pandemic cause people to remove their heads from the sand and wrap them in tinfoil?

(You can tell if people are clever by their questions, and you can tell if they are wise by their answers.)

These tinfoil hats will alter the secret super-subsonic sound waves which are programmed to persuade us to vote Progressive in November.

Another group of people believe that wearing a mask is directly linked to a plan to inject voting and tracking chips into the entire population of the United States.

This will be accomplished under the pretense of a vaccine for COVID-19. They also contend that Soros has surreptitiously purchased NBC, the National Bank of China and also the National Broadcasting Co.

Some even think that the National Bank of China is the culprit behind our current coin shortage. This is part of a master plan construed by Soros to create a cashless society.

In turn, this will require a new world order of which Soros will direct a single super-sized government encompassing the entire world. The end result will be an unarmed and unfunded law enforcement agency.

The above was a silly stab at attempting to make a point. That point was and is: “Please wear a mask.” There are a number of people who are very vulnerable to catching the coronavirus and possibly dying as a result.

Let’s endeavor to be thoughtful and considerate of others. Has the old-fashioned way of showing courtesy and respect passed us by?

Don’t complain about your freedom or liberty being hindered. My freedom and liberty is just as important as yours. I grow weary of hearing people whine about being led around like sheep. Does your liberty end where mine begins?

Please do not base your unwillingness to aid and assist others on misinformation or an invalid assumptions. I fear that common decency, empathy and toilet paper are in short supply.

Read Eph. 4:32.
