To the editor:

May I share with you a portion of the letter I wrote to The Post-Intelligencer about a year ago? Thank you.

I feel the facts contained in this article will point to the probability that Russian collusion in America really started about 1956.

Please read and, if you agree, pass it on. If you do not agree, think about it, especially before the 2020 elections).

Remember, one thing is for certain: “Divided we fall!”

Russian involvement in American history:

“We will take America without firing a shot. We do not have to invade the U.S.; we will destroy you from within.” — Nikita Krushchev, Soviet Union premier, Nov. 18, 1956.

Impossible? No! In fact, it will be very simple. All that is needed is a tactic dating way back in military history. Simply stated: “Divide and conquer.”

First off, the very foundation of America must be weakened. To do this, the Bible and prayer must be taken out of public schools.

The Bible must be reduced to just “another book.” Also, Jesus must be deemed “just another prophet.”

This will ease the task of breaking up the traditional structure of the American family, leaving the children with virtually no moral leadership in the home.

This will make it hard for them to know right from wrong and foster a total disregard for authority.

This could lead to mass shootings, especially where children are involved. No doubt this will cause enough turmoil that it will disarm the American public and negate the “right to bear arms.”

With the “freedom of speech,” it will be easy to use TV, social media, music, concerts, talk show hosts, etc., to promote the legalization of pot, glorification of alcohol, disregard for laws and officials, and a total loss of pride in our great country.

The use of racial turmoil will certainly divide and destroy families, communities, reputations and respect for others, not to mention the lives that will be lost.

Along this same line, the use of character assassinations will take down church leaders, political leaders, business leaders, military leaders, family leaders, etc.

This will lead to distrust and loss of faith in the elected leaders and the branches of government responsible for making and enforcing the laws that are supposed to protect and serve the citizens of this great country.

These are but a few examples of the divisions going on in America today. They have been for some time and, if something doesn’t happen soon, it is going to be too late.

Even though I wasn’t around during the Civil War, things today seem to be more divided than they were back then.

The division then was mostly over one issue, but the issues today are many and varied.

We are a divided country in many ways, but thank God we still have more proud, hard-working, caring, sharing, praying, god-fearing good people in America than those who seek to destroy us.

God is still in command, listening to our pleadings and answering our sincere prayers in a way that is best for us.

Let me give you three Bible verses to look up. They all say the same thing, but these are Jesus’ words recorded by Matthew, Mark and Luke. The verses are: Matt. 12:25, Mark 3:24 and Luke 11:17.

Think about it: “Together we stand, divided we fall.” We must “return to God to make America great again!” Thank you and God bless,

Joe Houston
