Henry County High School cross country runner Dinah Winders scored her fourth victory in her fourth race of the season Saturday at Dickson.

She won the Dickson County Invitational by posting a time of 19 minutes, 20 seconds in the 5-kilometer race. Teammate Joy Turner came in 32nd at 24:48.

Henry County cross country coach Lance Winders said his daughter is on a mission to finish the season as one of the top runners in the state.

“Dinah is on a great roll. She has won all four races this year. Joy is adjusting well to the high school five kilometer distance. She ran her personal best this weekend,” said Lance Winders.

The Patriot cross country team came in third at the Dickson meet.

Sam Bruce led the way with a seventh-place finish. His time was 18:56.

Connor Cox placed 23rd with a time of 19:51 while Shane Rogers was 26th at 19:54. Luke Nichols came in 32nd at 20:08, Austin Dunagan was 35th at 20:12 and Logan Williams finished 91st with a time of 24:05.

“I felt the boys ran well coming off a tough week of practice,” Lance Winders said after the Dickson race. “Most of them had their best time of the season. We are still not where I would like us to be as far as fitness. Once the heat breaks, I think we will see some huge gains.”
