Basketball teams at Inman Middle School traveled to play at the University School of Jackson on Monday.

The Lady Bulldogs dropped a 40-34 decision while the Bulldogs scored a 39-18 victory over the Bruins.

Inman plays host to Martin Middle School on Thursday. Girls’ action begins at 6 p.m. with the boys’ game to follow. The Bulldogs will also be in action on Saturday at Meridian, Ill. Tipoff will be at 11 a.m.




The USJ Lady Bruins captured a 14-10 lead by the end of the first quarter, but Inman rebounded for a 10-5 scoring edge in the second period to move in front 20-19 at halftime.

The Lady Bruins regained the lead in the third period with a 9-6 scoring run, putting USJ on top 28-26. 

A 12-8 run in the fourth quarter capped USJ’s win.

Both Brook Blankenship and Fajona Sneed finished with 10 points for Inman. Tierra Russell scored five points. Bayleigh Thompson tossed in four points with Kylee Perry scoring three points. Fayth England contributed two points.



Scoring began slowly but Inman managed to take a 6-1 first-quarter lead.

Inman exploded to go on a 16-5 scoring run in the second frame to build a 22-6 halftime lead.

Both teams scored nine points in the third period to make the score 31-15.

Inman’s 8-3 scoring edge in the fourth quarter made the final score 39-18.

Boyd finished 12 points for Inman while Marshall added nine. Webb chipped in six points with Richardson tossing in four. Both Davis and Ashton Kemp scored three points. Cameron Phillips had two points.

Mills Terry scored six points to lead USJ’s scoring list. Eli DeBerry and Reed Ingram both scored three points. Scoring two points each were Brody Smith, J.G. Wilson and Hayes Carney.
