The Henry County Patriots’ middle school football team suffered a 24-6 loss Thursday at Martin.
Henry County got strong play on the defensive line by Shane Barrick. Henry County coach Paul O’Neal Jr. said Barrick chased down a Chargers’ runner to force a fumble into the end zone to stop a drive.
Runners Adam Townsend and Carter Moody fought for yardage when they found openings. The Patriots scored on a touchdown pass from Rush Cox to Colby Stallings.
Henry County will meet Inman at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Barton Field.
O’Neal said the Patriots have fought very hard in both losses to Camden and Martin. He said the Patriots have several seventh-graders starting. They continue to improve and gain experience.
