Rhodes’ Williams hits ace

Former Henry County High School golfer Sydney Williams hit a hole in one while carding a career best round of 76 at the Rhodes Classic at Galloway Golf Course during the weekend in Memphis.

Williams, a freshman, helped Rhodes College to a team score of 293 which set a 36-hole record for the program. Rhodes placed second in the tournament.


Pats basketball plans sale

The Henry County High School boys’ basketball team will be hosting a yard sale from 7-11 a.m. Sept. 21 at the Atkins-Porter Recreation Center, 301 S. Highland St. in Paris.

All proceeds will benefit the Patriot basketball program. Anyone with items to donate and wish them to be picked up can call 363-1443. The date of the sale was printed wrong in Friday’s newspaper.


Lady Pats middle beats Rebels

The Henry County Lady Patriots middle school softball team battled for a 9-3 win over McKenzie on Thursday.

Angelina Overcast hit two doubles while Joycelyn Lee, Kaylee Powell and Noe Wilkerson also hit doubles. Breely Pierpoint added a triple.

Celia Lamkin pitched a complete game victory.


HCHS plans alumni games

The Henry County High School girls’ and boys’ basketball teams will be sponsoring alumni games starting at 4 p.m. Nov. 2 at Gamlin Gymnasium.

The girls will play first with the boys’ contest to follow. Any former Lady Patriot and Patriot player, along with former cheerleaders, are invited to participate.
