Henry County’s Johnson is state’s player of the week

Henry County High School senior tailback Jermarcus Johnson was voted the Tennessee High School Boys Athlete of the Week by The Tennessean in Nashville for his performance in the Patriots’ 56-13 victory over West Creek on Oct. 9. Johnson (48), shown above in a game against Beech Aug. 28 in Milan, battered West Creek by running 11 times for 183 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Ryan Damron had been the Athlete of the Week the previous week. The Patriots didn’t play Friday but will return to action in a Region 7-5A battle at Northeast High School in Clarksville. Kickoff at Northeast is set for 7 p.m. this Friday. The winner will be the region champion and earn a No. 1 seed in th
