Lady Patriots win Union City tournament

The Henry County High School girls’ golf team was crowned champion at a tournament played Thursday at Union City. The Lady Patriots won the team competition with a two-player total of 176 with Gibson County coming in second at 207. The Lady Patriots total includes an 87 by second medalist Bentley Irby and an 89 from Mary Alison Griffey. Annie Veazey and Raven Page both shot 91. The Lady Patriots pictured are (from left) Griffey, Veazey, Irby and Page. In the boys’ tournament at Union City, Henry County placed third with a four-player total of 376. Union City was first at 342 and Gibson County second at 355. Henry County’s Dalton Dodd shot 89 followed by Jackson Ridgeway at 94. Jackson Hayes finished at 95 with Jack Foster coming in at 98.
